Marta Gross

Artist

I’m an artist from Ukraine, driven by the search for meaning in chaos and the feeling of home that seems to shift with every moment of change. My work is deeply rooted in the emotions of war — the tension between loss and resilience, silence and noise, displacement and belonging.

I express these contrasts through watercolor, oil painting, photography, graphic design, and film. Each medium allows me to explore a different layer of human emotion: the fragility of memory in watercolor, the permanence of oil, the immediacy of photography, the structure of design, and the movement of film.

Art, for me, is both confession and conversation — a way to make sense of what words often cannot. My pieces often reflect the unseen scars of conflict but also the quiet strength that grows from it.

I’d describe my aesthetic as alternative, emotional, and raw — blending the traditional with the experimental, realism with abstraction. I’m not searching for perfection; I’m searching for truth in every brushstroke, every frame, every sound.

Ultimately, my work is a journey toward understanding what home means when the world keeps shifting beneath your feet.
